Serotonin is the chemical that actually determines our mood, and the easiest way to release serotonin is to laugh. Interesting side note: the brain can’t tell the difference between a fake laugh and a real laugh.. so if you aren’t able to find something really funny, just make yourself laugh anyway.. it can work just as well!
Dopamine in the ‘reward’ chemical that we associate with motivation.. and the easiest way to release it is to express gratitude! Find four things that are going on in your world right now and express gratitude for them.
Last but certainly not least.. Endorphins. These little mood-elevating guys can help reduce depression and stress.. AND the easiest way to release them is to eat chocolate! ..dark chocolate is best.
